Shoe Envy of the Week

One of the topics I love to discuss is shoes. I'm a HUGE shoe freak. When it comes to fashion I ABSOLUTELY love shoes. Shoes bring out the fierceness in any outfit. I know a lot of people like to accessorize with jewelry and bags, but for me, all it takes is a bad azz pair of stilettos. So earlier this week I saw these pics of JLo doing a press tour in Japan for Samantha Thavasa's handbags. I couldn't help but notice these shoes. I don't particularly care for white shoes bc most of the time they look cheap, but these are hot. These are by Salvatore Ferragamo and what I like most is the braided heel.
Anne Hathaway is also rocking a sick pair of stilettos in the pic above. I know these are from Fall 2008 but I thought I should add them b/cthey are to die for. I'm not sure who they are designed by because Ive seen reports that they are YSL, Marc Jacobs, and Dsquared2. Whomever designed them I love you.
Stay tuned b/c I hope to update my shoe envy serious each week and let you in to the life of my shoe heaven.

BEAUTY GOODIES:SPRING

Now that it’s officially Spring, I decided to pull up one of my favorite Spring fashion spreads that ran in the New York Times Style Magazine in Spring 2007. What I love about the makeup look in the throwback picture is that the makeup is still current. Very clean face, lightly applied blush in soft pink and bright red lips. It’s the same lipstick colors that the models walked down the catwalk wearing during NY Fashion Week 09'. So as you see, nothing really changed with spring makeup in the last two years.

And though nothing has changed with the makeup, if I could really sit on the beach eating ice cream, gourmet cakes and cookies, and still fit in a bathing suit looking like model Anja Rubik in two years, that may be hard to believe.

Enjoy the video treat below of the making of this amazing shoot by photographer Miles Aldridge.

BEAUTY GOODIES:Clinique Quick Blush Brush

nique Q

written by Brandy Gomez-Duplessis

If you’re a woman on the go, then you will love this new product by Clinique. Clinique came out with their new Quick Blush Brush. The sleek cylinder blush brush comes in six shades. The brush is finished with Clinique’s anti-bacterial technology now this doesn’t mean you don’t still have to keep it clean, wash it every couple of weeks with gentle shampoo and a little conditioner and lay it flat to dry. Now personally, I wash my makeup brushes every night with baby shampoo and once a week I add conditioner to my brushes. But, if you are just using the brush on yourself this anti-technology should be ok.

The Quick Blush tube is the perfect size and very lightweight. So you never have to worry about makeup breaking in spilling in your favorite clutch or handbag.

The Electric Company on PBS

I don't know if many of you remember the PBS television show The Electric Company( http://archive.sesameworkshop.org/tec/). The Electric Company was on the air from 1971 to 1977 and continued in reruns on PBS until 1985. Well, I received the call that they are doing a new cast and they asked me to do makeup. I will be meeting the cast on Wednesday and starting makeup on Thursday, so I will keep you posted. How cool right???I am so excited to be a part of a childhood show. I was able to find the link to the old show and WOW this is a very special assignment, I feel like crying.

Sunday Night Movie: Twilight

Okay I know I'm late but I just finished watching the movie Twilight. There was nothing on TV so I decided to see what all the buzz was about. I wasn't interested in the movie when it came out because I thought it was just another teeny bopper movie. Boy was I wrong. I AB-SO-LUT-ELY LOVED IT. I'm hooked and cant wait for part two to hit the big screen.

There were so many great lines in the movie and the graphics were cool. I loved how they were so strong and quick. I wish I had a man who can carry me and fly and jump from place to place. Was it just me or was this film more suited for older teens and young adults? I was surprised that it was also a love story but I think that's why I enjoyed it so much. I'm such a hopeless romantic.
Here are two of my favorite lines in the movie between the two main characters Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattison). This was taken from the scene where Edward reveals his true identity to Bella.
1) Its like diamonds. Your beautiful! -- Bella tells Edward
2)Your scent is like a drug to me. Your like my own personal brand of heroin -- Edward tells Bella. (That line is almost orgasmic, LOL!)

The movie was awesome and see why the kids are so crazy about this film. Not to mention Robert Pattison is a hottie!!

Suprised and Extremely Touched

Yesterday I received one of the most touching surprises in all my 29 years here on this earth. B, her family, and my mommy surprised me with my very own private screening of The Devil Wears Prada. I had my own theatre room which holds up to 500 people and sweet goodies to eat. I have never seen the entire movie so I was estacic to say the least. I have never had a friend do anything so sweet for me to help me end my month long bday celebration. I was totally caught off guard bc Im the P.I. as they like to call me, I know everybody's business or can definetely find out. Well not this time, they got me. As Envy said, "How does it feel to be Punked". That was a Punking I definetly didnt mind. I was brought to tears and was at a lost of words.

B is such a great friend and I wish there were more first class ladies like her around. Thank you guys so much and Love you lots!!! I am truly blessed..

Got my internet on my blackberry working again

I've been receiving tons of emails from everyone asking if I was ok because their has been low activity from me on my blog, facebook, twitter, and late emails response this week.

I don't know what I did or touched but I messed something up. Michael was able to contact the service provider and they walked him through what I needed to do and he walked me through it and my emails starting coming in a little after 2:30 today and I had access to my browser. I was going crazy, feeling sick cuz I didn't have access to nothing. I better stick with just doing makeup...right?

BEHIND THE BEAUTY: Alexandra Groover A/W 09

written by Brandy Gomez-Duplessis

California designer Alexandra Groover’s (AW09/10) off scheduled fashion show at London Fashion Week makeup look was very futuristic but very minimal. The models were dressed in black garments with structured shape and voluminous silhouettes. The makeup was very dark (my favorite) with a clean face and light lip. The eye shadow the models wore down the catwalk was black with a shimmering grey eye shadow to soften the eye. The liquid foundation used was Benefits Non Fiction and a little of Moonbean mixed with the foundation to create a more pale look. Moonbean was also used on the lips and Baby Cake was added through the brows. The eyes were finished with Badgal Waterproof Eye pencil and light application of Lust Dust for a metallic shimmer.

This is more of a new take on smoky eye, more space age with a glam gothic vampire look. So let’s see when this look will make it to the USA and NYC Fashion Week.

Q-fused

Okay can someone please tell me wtf is wrong with Q from Making the Band. This dude is straight tripping, but why? Does he not want to be in the band anymore? Is he trying to get a spin off for his own show? Is he confused and I mean How You Doing Confused? Is he on drugs? He has too much negative energy going on right now and its sad bc they actually look like they have some staying power in this business. He killed me when he attacked Will last night and said that Will was jealous of him. What does Will have to be jealous of. HELLO, Q look in the mirror, maybe you are the one that's jealous. Who focuses on dancing in the middle of trying to get an album out. There will be no dancing if there is no album to put out which means no tour, which equals no dancing and most importantly no money, DUMBASS!!! Ooh this dude infuriates me. Maybe he wants to start a group with Dawn and be the next Ashford and Simpson. I cant wait to next week, the previews look good and of course it all centers around Que's madness.

Swagger Jacking

So its all over the gossip blogs how Ciara has swagger jacked my girl Beyonce in her new video with Justin Timberlake and her album artwork. According to the gossip blogs it might not have been intentional but CiCi allegedly hired Bey's creative team for her new album. Come on now, if this is so, could they have not come up with ideas to fit CiCi's style. They are totally different artist with different sounds and fashion style. The trip part is that CiCi released her video with JT before Bey could release her video of Ego where most of the ideas resemble each other. Something sounds fishy to me. What do you think, Is it just one big coincidence or is CiCi flat out copying Bey to get on top? Check out the pics if you haven't already seen them courtesy of mediatakeout.

Fillico $100.00 Bottle Water

As you all know I have been hired to do makeup for over 100 weddings here in New Orleans and lots of Destination weddings. I have done small intimate weddings, young couples, socialites weddings, glam Hollywood weddings, political weddings and Caribbean weddings. Never, have I ever came across any bride having Fillico Beverly Hills Water.

Well Monday at the shoot for the bridal magazine I thought I saw it all when the model wore an 8 carat wedding ring for one of the looks. I was at all of this amazing rock. But yesterday, they pulled out the Fillico water that is a 750ml bottle retail at $100.00 a bottle...yeah a bottle not a case. The bottled is beautiful, crystal everywhere. Definitely my style of item. I could not concentrate on doing makeup because this $100.00 bottle of water was just blinging on set.

What I found out about the water is that it comes from an ultra luxurious line of spring water from a company called Vieluce in Osaka, Japan. It's natural spring water from Mount Rokko in Kobe, Japan. Only 5,000 bottles are sold a month since there is a limited supply of natural spring water. The bottles are made of frosted glass, with gold paint and accented with extraordinary Swarovski crystals.

I wonder if Diddy drinks Fillico water?

For the Love of Ray J

So i just finished watching the rebroadcast of For the Love of Ray J from last night. HI-LA-RIO-US!!!! These chics are crazy. Fiesty, my lil mama, Fiesty. When a man notices how much you drink and comments on it, then baby girl that means u drink too much. She gets it in when it comes to drinking. She killed me when she told Ray "I can go brush my teeth". LMAO!
Now on to the drama. I love how Danger baited Unique in. I don't care for Unique either so I was happy to see her real side come out. I mean she is always claiming she's so classy but hello, u are on a reality show kissing and laying up with a man for the whole world to see. Danger must really get under her skin because she just went off the handle. OMG if she didn't look psycho.
And is it just me, but Lil B is so adorable. I love her voice and her bubbly personality. I can't wait to next week's show.
See Ya !!!!!

Love vs Money

So right now I'm hooked on The Dream's new album. I'm absolutely loving this album and to be honest I didn't think I would. This album has been getting me through these long days at work. My favorites are Put it Down, Right Side of the Brain, and Walking on the Moon (which reminds me of some classic Micheal Jackson).

So what are u guys listening to? I love all kinds of music so any feedback would be appreciated.
If u haven't checked out this album, check it out!

Sunday Night Reality TV

This Sunday's episodes of Candy Girls and Keeping Up with the Kardashians were pretty booooring.
I dont even know where to start. I think im finished watching these damn video vixens. They have no respect for the owner and she has no clue how to control these girls. They talk shit about her to her face and behind her back. How the hell is she doing so well in the business if her models dont even take her serious? This show is foolishness.

The Kardashians explored body images, particularly Khloe since she was posing nude for the PETA campaign. Khloe is not as big as everyone believes. She has a cute shape and is only about 5'8". She wasnt that much taller than me when I met her back in December. I mean if I stood next to Kim and Kourt who are 5'0" and 5'2" I would look like a damn amazon too. Who the hell wants to look like an anorexic crack head anyway. Curves are in and here to stay. Just stay off TV cuz the camera really does add ten pounds.

Until next week, See Ya!!!

Two Photo Shoots Today

As crazy as it may sound I actually love it when I have photo shoots back to back. It keeps me on my feet staying creative. Both assignments are totally opposite so there is no way I would be doing the same looks.

I already started on my first assignment at 5am only a few more hours to go if everything else goes smooth. Weather is perfect so we don't have to worry about the weather slowing us down.

My second shoot today call time is at 4pm. So, I will have just enough time to clean my brushes and clean my kit for round two. I love that the pictures on this assignment will only be seen mostly in Japan. So, a new market for me.

Alright everybody, I know I am a little slow with all the social networking but I am catching up slowly. The girls set up my TWITTER page tonight so now everybody can really keep up with me. But, you have to be honest. I shared with you all last month that my schedule was going to be a little crazy for a minute that I would not blog daily to bare with me. So, the girls decided this is just another way for them as well as you all to keep up with me while on the road.

It's just a lot of work, I gave up updating myspace, and model mayhem. My blog is still the most current. My facebook page is not 6 months old and Shontell and I started a blog together in March 2009 and now here comes me on TWITTER...WOW a lot of work.

Hornets Casino Night

Last night was the Hornets Third Annual Casino Night at the Superdome. As I thought the venue was entirely too big for this event. The setup made the event less intimate and too spaced out. The event started at 630 and there were two rooms filled with poker tables, food stations, and bars. The players and coaching staff didn't arrive until 730 and they were split between the two rooms which meant if there was a particular player you wanted to see you had to find which room he was in.

We ran into Jackie, Leslie M, and Leslie at the event so that killed time while we caught up with girls. We got a few of the players in trouble by taking pics with them but they were more than happy to oblige B and I. Unfortunately, most of the pics didn't come out bc either our heads were chopped off or the players' heads were chopped off due to the extreme height difference. Sometimes I think we need to hire a professional camera crew to avoid these types of issues. LOL! Just kidding!
Overall the event was cool but last year I definitely had more fun. I didn't even get to play the tables. Well, there is always next year.

Chelsea Girls Makeup Look

written by Brandy Gomez-Duplessis

The makeup look in this fashion spread is very edgy and very sexy. Just using heavy black liquid eyeliner, full strip lashes, strong dark brows, nude lips and strong contoured checks wowed me. The models all look like mannequins with their porcelain flawless skin. The big platinum bouffant hair channeling the look of the most popular movie star in the late 1950’s actress Kim Novak, in a retro themed editorial shot at New York’s own Chelsea Hotel. The “Lady Lust” story features appearances by Constance Jablonski, Sessilee Lopez, Eniko Mihalik, Fernanda Tavares, and Joshua Walter and is certain to be an editorial to remember.

Casino Night Preview

So on tomorrow night B and I will be attending the Hornets 3rd Annual Casino Night at the Superdome. This event is exclusive for Season Ticket Holders and their guest. We attended last year when it was held at Metro which was kinda small so Im anxious to see how it will be in the huge ass Dome. Its an event where the players, coaches, and Hornets staff mingle with season ticket holders and play casino games like blackjack, poker, and roullet. Its catered and has lots of drinks, the part B loves the most. Last year we played Black Jack with Mo Pete and we racked up with chips. At the end of the night you cash in your chips and they give away prizes to the 3 people with the highest number of chips, such as a trip to All Star Weekend, season tickets and trips to away games. We could have been in the running last year but we gave away our highest valued chip worth 5000 because we didnt think it meant anything and we kept saying what am I going to do with this one chip. We didnt realize it was worth so much. If only we had known, LOL! Tomorrow I defintely wont be giving any chips away. Ill check back in Friday and update you on what went down at Casino Night.

TRICKS OF THE TRADE: Curling Your Eyelashes

written by Brandy Gomez-Duplessis

I think I may be one of the few Professional Makeup Artists who do not use an eyelash curler. For me, I have tried so many eye lash curlers in the past and I had pinched my eyes lids and bent my lashes that I would not dare try to use it on some else. So, I had to learn another way to really get the lashes to curl when applying mascara.

Tweezerman, is the only brand that I buy for my tweezers. Well, they recently came out with a new rose-gold Pro-Curl Curler. It’s designed for people like me, its pinch proof, ergonomically crafted and the contoured curler is designed to fit all eye shapes. It has a thick round silicone pad to give the ultimate leverage for the best curl. It also comes with 3 replacement pads but you must replace your curler pad after three months and curler between 6-9 month.

Tips & Tricks

With eye opened wide and pad positioned at the base of lash-line hold handles firmly and gently squeeze.

Hold a few seconds, open curler completely and gently release lashes.

Repeat, by moving all the way up to lash tips to create a more dramatically sweeping curve.

Apply mascara and follow up with Tweezerman eyelashcomb for an even more flawless, clump-free curl.

Now you are on your way to creating your favorite eye-opening, runway effects, sexier sweep and a more defined look.

Available at Sephora for $20.00

Reality Show Highlights

Last night I caught up on Candy Girls, Ray J of Love, and The Kardashians. Drama, drama, drama. As far as Candy Girls is going, im still not feeling them yet. Out of all the video vixens, why were these four picked and am I truly supposed to believe they are the highest paid video vixens around. I don't get them, I just don't get them. However, I did feel sorry for Danielle this episode. U can tell her mom really means the world to her and she is struggling with the fact her mom has cancer. My heart went out to her.

On to my Dash Dolls. This episode was about Kourtney doing her photo shoots and hiring her mom as her manager. I felt bad for Kris when she forgot Kourtney's shoot and Kourt basically tore her another asshole, but I also felt where Kourt was coming from. Kris does seem to juggle to many things at times and overbooks. But she is only human and u can tell her heart is definitely into making her girls' successful. Kourt's shoots were hot and I hope she too can be as successful as her sisters. She always seems to fade into the background for whatever reason.

Ray J of Love is always comical to me bc these girls are crazy! I love how they have their lil clicks and the house is divided. Cashmere decides this show to call out Cocktail for being on another reality show. Once she outs Cocktail in front of everyone, Cocktail and her click attack her and the stress becomes too much to handle so Cashmere dismisses herself. Are u serious Cashmere? This is a competition, if u couldn't handle the heat u should have never entered the kitchen. U started the fire, it was your idea honey. Anyway, its going to be interesting how Unique holds up now, since all her girls are gone. Cant wait to see the outcome.
