Run this town!!!

Me and the BF went to see Jay-Z on Thursday night and let me just tell you I was super amped. I usually don't do rap concerts because there is just too much going on, but I just had to see Jigga. The last time I saw Jay-Z was in 2004 before Katrina, I was thoroughly entertained. This time was even better!!!! We sat in the suites which was good because I was away from the massive crowd and there were no lines for the bathroom!!! He literally killed it! The crowd was so crunk and we song along with every song. He even said he had neva seen so many women sang along word for word. What can I say, we love Jigga tooo!!! Trey Songz and Young Jeezy were there also. They both put on great shows as well. As for Trey Songz, ladies, this boy is sexy as hell. I didn't even realize how delicious this boy was. Had a good time, definitely the best rap concert I've been to.

BTW no pics bc damn camera battery died, so mad :(.

Super Saints!!!

So by now everyone knows that the New Orleans Saints are the world champions this year :)!!!!!! I am so excited for them and for my city. This season was hands down the best season and I am so happy I got to witness the whole journey. I attended every home game except for the final 2 regular season games in which we lost (I think I jinxed them, j/k) and the ATL game due to illness. I literally thought I would have heart attacks watching these boys play, but it was all worth it in the end. I never thought losing my voice and chest pains would feel so good. This city has been on fire thanks to the black and gold. I hope we can do a repeat and please keep that cutie Darren Sharper aka Mr. Dimples around because he definitely made the experience so much more pleasurable. Sorry!

Check out the pics below from the NFC playoff games and the Victory parade. Geux Saints!!!!!
See ya!

Destination Wedding Makeup for Fiery Red Heads

Words by Brandy Gomez-Duplessis

When I think of a redhead, the first sultry vixen that comes to mind is the glamorous GINGER GRANT from the popular '60s TV series, "Gilligan's Island”, a sexy fair porcelain skin woman with flawless healthy skin and a beauty mark.

My sirens always ask, what are the best colors for their complexion? I like using L’OREAL True Match Foundation Porcelain W2 with SPF 17. With a foundation brush I prefer to dab the foundation on the key areas and blend from inside out.On the eyes, the safe color to use on a redhead is taupe, but if you want a little pop I suggest russet, terra cotta, gold’s and my favorite emerald greens. Pop beauty has a great palette called “LID BRONZER” that has safe colors for redheads.

On the brow bone always select colors like camel and beige to open the eyes. I like using dark brown eye shadows as an eye liner to give definition to the eyes. To make sure you’re not giving the eyes a harsh look opt for Bare Naturale Mascara in “Black Brown”. I find black mascara is just way too heavy on pale skin.

Lipstick and blush color palettes are more on the neutral side. Choose colors like apricots, peach, and corals. Very lightly I apply a coral bronzer color by the Balm in “HOT MAMA” in the T-zones to give the skin a little color. You want to keep both features natural and top off the lips with a little gloss my favorite NARS LIP GLOSS in Orgasm. The last step to completing a face is filling in the brows with a brow filler shadow, try LORAC Take A Brow “Auburn”. This is where I don’t mind darkening to help frame the face.

Keeping Up w/ the Kardashians Highlights

Last night was the finale of KUWTK's and this season was by far the most drama filled and entertaining even though at times it did seem staged. The two part finale was my fav of this season. I most of all enjoyed the birth of lil Mason Dash. He is such a cutie pie! Now on to that daddy of his, Scott. Wtf! Scottie being drunk in vegas was an understatement! Dude...I now see why Khloe calls him a douche lord. He was totally wasted and it was so embarrassing. He totally caught me off guard when he shoved the money in the waiter's mouth. That could not have been me that's all I have to say.

I also liked the episode where Bruce and the girls steal Kris's dress. I was lmao. Bruce finally got his balls back and I was so glad for him.

Let's see what the Kardashian clan has in store for us next. I must admit though I'm happy I'm getting a break from them for a little while.

See ya!

I'm Back

Okay so its been way tooooo long since I've blogged. I feel like a part of me has been in a coma, but I'm back. To make a long story short, I started a new job that I absolutely love back in October but has had me completely worn out. I mean all I do after work is go home, eat, and go to bed. I feel like such an old maid, lol. I have neglected my house, my man, and fam and friends. But no more. After missing spending time with B while she did Sundance, Superbowl, and Allstar, and not to mention just things back at home with my fam n friends, I literally can't do it anymore. Got to get my life back. It feels good to be back!

Btw I got a new look as me some bangs.

Cherry Bomb Lips...How To Get Them

written by New Orleans Makeup Artist Brandy Gomez-Duplessis

Hello Daddy Hello Mom
I’m your ch ch ch ch ch cherry bomb
Hello world I’m your wild girl
I’m your ch ch ch ch ch cherry bomb

Now if you are a daring bride, a sultry bride, a rocker bride or even an anti-bride then you know that red lipstick is a glamxurious trend that seems to never go out of style. Anti-Brides have always been inspired by their favorite Hollywood and Rock and Roll vixens and they always step outside of the traditional pinks, peach or nude lipstick colors on their wedding day.

So many times makeup artists in beauty editors has preached to women to keep their eyes in cheeks to a minimal if your’re going to wear a bold lip color. But if the rest of your makeup is applied correctly, you can sashay down the aisle wearing a smoky eye, faux lashes and a cherry bomb red lipstick. Just be sure to find the correct shade of a red lip color for your skin tone. Below I created a cheat sheet to help you with your selection. On my model above I used Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Satin Lip Lacquer in #75 Dragon. A creamy texture rich color and shine that will last for hours.

Fair skin tones can wear blue-based red lipsticks. This means the color is a true classic red, with no hint of orange or pink.

Medium skin tones have more options. You can wear a true red to pinky-cranberry shade, an orange-red pops against a medium skin tone, especially when worn with bronzer.

Dark skin tones look better wearing a deeper, richer burgundy or warm brick shade. Dark skin tones should also opt for a purple-based red.

L'OREAL Men Hydra Energetic Eye Roller

After an amazing night and weekend of partying, I am sure The New Orleans Saints as well as so many men especially in New Orleans can use this new item from L'OREAL PARIS-Men Hydra Energetic Eye Roller.

I was able to introduce the eye roller at Sundance Film Festival 2010 to so many of the male celebrities in the Entertainment Weekly lounge presented by L'OREAL PARIS. Such celebrities like Elijah Wood, Samuel Jacksson, John Legend, Dax Sheppard, Josh Hutcherson, Crispin Glover and many more all liked the eye roller. The guys all said it was easy to use in that it was an item that they could really use to help give them that wake up look. Especially while being at Sundance in all the late night parties.

This is an must have item that makeup artist should stock in their makeup kit for their men clients. A great item for under eye circles and puffiness for men. It's an easy to apply serum that absorbs quickly and it works right away. Some of the top ingredients in this magic eye roller are; Vitamin C, Caffeine, and Peppermint Leaf. So when I work with my ball player clients again on their next photo shoot I will make sure that Reggie Bush, Brett Favre, and Chris Paul, all get their personal L'OREAL Hydra Energetic Eye Roller to give them that refereshing wake up look.

B.E.T. SOS for Haiti Benefit Concert-Miami

Superbowl weekend I was once again back in Florida working. On this trip my daughter came out with me. As some as you all know my daughter is very opposite from me, a late bloomer, very quiet, very serious, not big on taking lots of pictures every 5 mins (like me), not big on makeup in can usually care less about the celebrity clients I worked with. That...she gets from my mother :)))

Off my baby girl and I go to---Miami. She only wanted to take a few shots so that is why I don't have a lot of pics from the trip. Plus, I just wanted to focus on her, a girls trip. So while I worked she met lots of the people I worked on. Some of the celebs took her with them to soundcheck she actually enjoyed that.

Everybody loved her in she made many friends, their was only one person I wasn't a big of :))) in that person knew it my daughter later shared with me. We had a great trip, we did some shopping, pampered ourselves only a little and ate a LOT!

Makeup for a Winter Bride

written by New Orleans Celebrity Makep Artist Brandy Gomez-Duplessis
A winter bride can be very fairy-tale and very romantic, especially when there is a light snowfall. But what’s not so fabulously is dreary and harsh winter light that can make any bride look less stunning in her pictures. On this day, your best beauty item will be a bronzer; a bronzing gel, a tinted gel, or a self tanning mist to achieve a natural summer glow on your skin. The L'OREAL Paris Sublime Bronze line offer salon like self tanner, great to do especially if your going to wear a strapless dress. You want to make sure your foundation now matches your tan skin if you opt to do your own makeup.

When you are having a consultation with your makeup artist share with them that you would like to do more warm and glowing hues instead of dark and smokey. Select a full coverage foundation like L’OREAL Paris True Match Roller Foundation to help achieve a flawless pale skin. To compliment your bronzed skin select peach, coral, pink or a matte bronzer for the cheeks. If you decide to go with a red or a nude lip be sure to give them a high gloss.

Don’t forget to take care of the grooms favorite part-the lips. Be sure to nourish and moisturize them daily with lip conditioner weeks before your wedding day. My favorites are the lightweight L'OREAL Paris Bare Naturale Gentle Lip Conditioner because it has minerals, conditioning Sweet Almond Oil and a soothing Vitamin E. I also love OCC’s Ultra-sheer Lip Balms, their deeply pigmented and moisturizing. To be a radiant winter bride, sparkle less, shimmer more and turn your winter wedding into a winter wonderland.

*Bronzer used on model: L’OREAL Paris Glam Bronze Bronzing Powder in Enchanting Sunrise #941.
