TRAVEL:Miami 2 Do Makeup & Articles

I made it to Miami so I have to keep it short. Will keep you guys posted on TWITTER, so if you are not following me that's going to be the only way to know what kind of trouble I am going to be getting into.

Makeup Arrived Today

All of my items that I ordered is arriving today for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim. I just placed a large makeup orders in palettes because it's so much easier to travel with. The foundation are really hard to pack in carry around. Because I don't know who I am working on from ED HARDY & TRUE RELIGION I just ordered a lot of colors. I spoke with Lacie in June 09 when she hired me but we never did a walk through. I am so excited to be the MAKEUP ARTIST for the ED HARDY & TRUE RELIGION Designers. I know Makeup Forever is the sponsor makeup line but I am the personal makeup artist of the company. I hope the Makeup Forever Artists don't trip you know.

Well, gotta start packing.

1 Day till Miami

With just a lil over 24 hours left before my departure to Miami, I am literally about to pull my hair out. I still have so much to do with so little time left. I'm tired, cranky, and excited all at once. I still have to pack, finish out two more work days, and get all assignments in at school before I leave. I need to hit the gym two good more times and wash my hair. Not to mention I need to straighten up my house because I dread coming back to a dirty, junky home. I wish I could clone myself so I can get all this done without losing my mind. Oh well, wish me luck and lots of strength.

ELSA BOADMAN FASHION SHOW

On June 13th Miss Sassy and I attended a fashion show for a good associate of our ELSA BOADMAN. Elsa is a local stylist and designer who I have worked with only a few times. In May during one of my shoots she told me she was putting together her fashion show. She sent us tickets and I was afraid I was going to miss it but I made it just in time...no really just in time. As the MC was walking away the DJ was starting the music for the first model to come out. Here I come running to hurry in sit in the first row. MISS SASSY shook her head at me cuz I stopped at the bar before coming in like normal people to get my seat:)

The show was great, so very proud of her. Anyway, CUE magazine did a great 4 page spread on her (35-37). What's really cute, the writer contacted me a few days later and asked me my opinion on the show. The photographer was able to get MISS SASSY and the picture but my dress,huge handbag and my hair made it but not my face:(

CONGRATS ELSA...MISS SASSY and I are so proud of you!!!!

A Regular Lazy Day

Nothing FAB today, I was able to get out of bed at 12:22 pm which is so not a regular thing for me to do. It was actually relaxing and just felt really good not having to rush today. I worked out, spent quality time with my son Jordan, Envy is by her BFF home for the weekend, talked with Miss Sassy for a short time, I packed, and was even able to cook dinner for the family. Will keep everybody posted on Miss Sassy and I trip to Miami.


All of our post will be small and sweet this week as I work and we party it up. If any of out our readers are in the Miami area shoot us an email so we can meet you.

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim

Michelle has been organizing the Miami schedule since so much is going on. Not only will I be working doing makeup with ED Hardy and the designers but I will also be covering interviews for POSH Magazine and the online publications I write for. My schedule looks like it did for Essence Music Festival. This time around Michelle has given me some relax time to play and enjoy myself. I am really excited about being in Miami working doing makeup at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim. I have to start packing in getting my clothes together this weekend so I don't forget nothing.

Julia Lundy Bridal Consultation

This afternoon I met with Julia Lundy, her mom and wedding planner to discuss her upcoming wedding and to do her bridal consultation. Julia has such a great face and flawless skin that she was so easy to do. I gave her a bronzed and midnight blue eyes with a soft pink lip. Can't wait to see how everything comes together on her wedding day August 1, 2009.

ESSENCE MUSIC FESTIVAL:Feedback

This year Essence Music Festival was strictly about me working and working and working. My hours were very rough this year. I didn't go out to parties any partying that I did was on Thursday night at the Mayor's Pre-Essence Party. I don't count being in the VIP Lounge & backstage at the Superdome partying even though everybody else was. I did get to see BEYONCE and walked around the VIP Lounge and the main floor when artists came on that I wasn't a big fan of. Can you believe that I only had two drinks all weekend. Because my call times started at 5am and ending at 3am there were no time to drink.

I would like to thank makeup artist Andrea Walker from Houston who was selected from the casting calls. Andrea came down and she helped me so so much. We only saw each other one time when she was so sweet to come downstairs at the convention center to bring me something to eat n drink cuz I was in pain with a 4 day migraine. All of the clients loved her and she was so reliable that I didn't have to keep checking up on her. She got to every client that they ended up asking if she can come back later in the day.

Miss Sassy and I didn't get to party together except for Thursday night. Michael and Henry both came out with us to the Mayor's party. This was the first time that Henry party with us.

I met so many great people (VP's, directors, producers, pr firms, reporters, photographer's, & artists )this year that I look forward to working with and building business relationship with. Saw many old pals and was able to spend a few seconds with them cuz my schedule kept me moving.

I love that Essence gave us these cute little FORD cars to get around in. They hired two drivers to take us everywhere (hotel, convention center, & superdome) all weekend. When I was at the Windsor Court a couple asked to take a picture with me I thought that was the cutest thing. I got asked that a few times, I don't know if it's because they thought I was somebody else or because they actually knew who I was and liked my work. Either way it was weird, kinda funny.

Even though the hours were long and hard I actually had fun doing what I love...MAKEUP!!!

I started this morning at 6:00 am and am having a mini 10min break.There were two change in the schedule so far. I worked on the exec video producer first then went to do angela the editor in chief. I knocked out two of my regular clients and now waiting to go back to do the video producer.earlier a magazine call to interview me but I could not do it today I hope they understood. I check in at 3pm to my hotel go back to do angela and work on some of the artists for the mayors pre essence party. Tonight hubby is going to attend so I am excited. I think Miss Sassy BF is also attending. After checking in I have to add in two more regular clients just for lashes. Ok gotta go just wanted to keep you all posted.

Essence Music Festival Weekend

Essence Weekend is finally here and I'm so ready to get this party started and over with. Yesterday I got my lashes done by Queen B. Its been a while since I have worn them out, but I figured with my weight loss I should go for a more glam look than normal. I've lost 11 lbs thus far, so I'm excited to unveil my new slimmer physique since no one has really seen me since I started my weight loss journey. Tonight we are going to the Mayor's Welcome Essence Party at Metro and it should be a big one since this is the last party for this term's mayor. The rest of the weekend not too sure what I'm getting into, but Ill figure it out and keep you guys posted.

Natasha from THEYBF.COM

Yesterday Natasha assistant called to see if I have anytime left to put Natasha from THEYBF.com on my schedule. Her staff contact me a few months ago and then they cancel. Now that she will be coming to New Orleans she would like to get makeup and lashes for all three days of the Essence Fest. I have been able to add her on Friday night and Saturday may work but its's Sunday what looks like it will be hard since I will be at the Superdome from 6:45 pm- 12:00 am,

I don't know if she is coming to work with BIg Boy radio show are just to have a FAB time....we will see....
