A Day at BIBI Salon in Harlem, NY

Many of you know I was busy working Mercedes Benz Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week. But what many of you guys may not know that I was also a special guest makeup artist at BIBI Salon in Harlem.

BIBI Salon is a new, modern gem in Harlem owned by Celebrity Hair Stylist Maisha Teacher. Maisha is a 18 year internationally veteran who specializes in healthy hair. Her favorite and only hair product line she will carry is; PHYTO. I love that Maisha has taken a chance to bring her love and passion of hair to Harlem. Now, ladies don't have to travel so far into the city to receive a great cut, color, style and even a manicure or pedicure....she's carrying PRITI NYC.

Maisha says she will continue to freelance but plan to bring her top clients to her new salon. While getting pamper it was good to see many FAB behind the scene faces in the industry stop by to get their tresses done. One of the video director from Essence Magazine was getting her washed, cut, and styled in a very cute short bob. One of the ladies from the NBA was getting her hair color just in time for fall. Even the FAB Jai Jai from the Nectar Bar stopped by to say hi.

During Essence Music Festival in July 2010, Maisha Teacher owner of BiBi Salon and I were talking backstage about her salon opening. Stephanie Jordan commercial

New Orleans Jazz Singer Stephanie Jordan shot her Chip Forstall commercial today at Generations Hall. The commercial was directed by Michael Campbell.

Stephanie wanted a nail color for her nails that would look great on tv. Out of my makeup kit I gave her Priti NYC one of my favorite nail polish color called "hard water lily", a shimmering champagne color that looks great on all skin tones.

COOL GIRLS ROCKS PINK

The Pink Lady pledge is to act cool, to look cool, and to be cool…’til death to us part, think PINK NAIL POLISH. If you haven’t noticed by now, the summer nail color for both hands and feet is PINK. Bright bold pink, almost neon pink, is getting used on some of our favorite cool celebs. Last week singer Cassie rocked long pink nails and the gorgeous Kardashian girls all rocked pink on the Kourtney & Khloe takes Miami show. Kim Kardashian was also a pink lady at Celebrity hair stylist Ken Paves birthday party with her pink nails.

While in Miami last week and on my makeup tour, I had to get in on this summer trend since pink is my favorite color. I decided on my day off to pamper my nails in go get them painted pink. My two favorite nail colors I have fallen in love with are Fire Candle by PRITI nails and Hot Girls by M2M nail polish. PRITI is a non-toxic nail polish line that is fast drying, and chip resistant. M2M, owned by Celebrity Manicurist Myrith Leon-McComark made sure this luxury polish was fun, bold and has a high gloss. You have to try them both because they look really great on. I usually don’t do well with nail polish because they always seems to chip but both products gave awesome shine and lasted for a little over a week. And for me and that’s a long time because I am so rough on my hands. So if you want to be a PINK LADY, think PINK!
