Season ending comes new beginnings

So its official, the hornets lost last night ending their mediocre season. AT LAST!!! I'm excited because that means I can focus on the rest of the teams and see how these playoffs turn out and more importantly I can focus on getting bikini ready for the summer. Officially I started working out yesterday and the goal is to lose 15 pounds. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed. However, I do have a lil incentive, my BF and I made a tiny wager that if I lose the 15 lbs by time we go away for our lil vacay that he'll get me a new designer bag and shoes to accompany me on our trip (keep me warm at night, jk, lol). So that is always a plus bc there are quite a few pair of shoes I have my eye on. Besides I'm so lazy these days I just don't feel like squatting, lifting and crunching dammit, I could use all the motivation I can get right about now. LOL!

While I'm talking about getting in shape, let me address the rumors for those nosey ppl who read this blog but don't comment, but are concerned about my maternal affairs. NO, I'M NOT PG, I repeat I'M NOT PG (at least not yet). Damn can a girl retain water every now and then and eat a piece of cheesecake and cookies w/out ppl speculating. Geez why do u care anyway, it aint yours if i was. LOL!

We Made History

So the Hornets made history last night. Lets give them a standing ovation for the worst game ever played in NBA Playoff history since 1956 when the St. Louis Hawks also lost by 58 points. I am so dumb founded by what I saw last night. They were a total embarrassment and I'm embarrassed for actually sitting through that foolishness for as long as me and my bf did. Denver continued to completely dominate these boys with their physical play, which at times just seemed like down right bullying. What happened to attacking Kenyon in the lane, what happened to defense, rebounding, maybe a lil offense. What happened to anyone else stepping up when they were as George Karl said "blitzing" CP3. The boy cant play by himself, he needs help. CP had a miserable 4 pts, 6 assists, with 6 turnovers. Hello, was anyone in the building. Why are we continuing to go to Peja when he was 1 for 9, why are still using Tyson when he seems to only know how to play volleyball instead of basketball. Why didn't Coach Scott just send in players off the bench to draw hard fouls and show we are here to fight, we wont lie down. Its not like it would have hurt us. Hell, I could have put on a uniform and probably been more productive. This was a total dibocrary. These guys gave up so easy, there was no passion, no heart and that was the most disgusting part of the night. Melo said it best, "I didn't think a team could lose by 58 pts in the playoffs." Exactly bc they shouldn't and we did. Nobody cares that these boys lost because someone has to win and someone has to lose, but to give up and lie down, that's just damn disrespectful to the fans who paid to cheer u on. Screw FAN UP, how bout MAN UP HORNETS!!!!

I want a refund.

Hornets Playoff Pep Rally

This past Thursday I took B's kids with me to the Hornets pep rally in Fulton Square. It was great weather and since the kids were still on spring break I thought it would be good plus they could keep me company. They are the coolest and funniest kids ever. They absolutely crack me up especially Jordan. The atmosphere was family oriented which I loved bc it wasn't a lot of groupies running around. I didn't like that the players only made a five minute appearance but T Scott, the coach's son, told me everyone was in hurry to finish packing for their playoff game away which is Sunday against Denver plus they just got back and were tryn to spend time with their families. Anyway I enjoyed the event bc the kids were great company and they said they had a good time as well.
We also stopped for cupcakes which is totally against my diet but they are sooo good I couldn't resist.
Well I got my playoff tix so hopefully they can advance to the second round and don't disgrace us. GO HORNETS!

Hornets Casino Night

Last night was the Hornets Third Annual Casino Night at the Superdome. As I thought the venue was entirely too big for this event. The setup made the event less intimate and too spaced out. The event started at 630 and there were two rooms filled with poker tables, food stations, and bars. The players and coaching staff didn't arrive until 730 and they were split between the two rooms which meant if there was a particular player you wanted to see you had to find which room he was in.

We ran into Jackie, Leslie M, and Leslie at the event so that killed time while we caught up with girls. We got a few of the players in trouble by taking pics with them but they were more than happy to oblige B and I. Unfortunately, most of the pics didn't come out bc either our heads were chopped off or the players' heads were chopped off due to the extreme height difference. Sometimes I think we need to hire a professional camera crew to avoid these types of issues. LOL! Just kidding!

Overall the event was cool but last year I definitely had more fun. I didn't even get to play the tables. Well, there is always next year.

Casino Night Preview

So on tomorrow night B and I will be attending the Hornets 3rd Annual Casino Night at the Superdome. This event is exclusive for Season Ticket Holders and their guest. We attended last year when it was held at Metro which was kinda small so Im anxious to see how it will be in the huge ass Dome. Its an event where the players, coaches, and Hornets staff mingle with season ticket holders and play casino games like blackjack, poker, and roullet. Its catered and has lots of drinks, the part B loves the most. Last year we played Black Jack with Mo Pete and we racked up with chips. At the end of the night you cash in your chips and they give away prizes to the 3 people with the highest number of chips, such as a trip to All Star Weekend, season tickets and trips to away games. We could have been in the running last year but we gave away our highest valued chip worth 5000 because we didnt think it meant anything and we kept saying what am I going to do with this one chip. We didnt realize it was worth so much. If only we had known, LOL! Tomorrow I defintely wont be giving any chips away. Ill check back in Friday and update you on what went down at Casino Night.
